With a fiscal module connected

A fiscal module is a component that handles payment fiscalization and transaction data transfer (to the fiscal data operator). When an online cash register has one, the register itself takes on the fiscalization role.

For example, if the cash register includes an FM, a card or cash payment triggers the register to generate a receipt with a fiscal marker, send the data to the tax authority, and print a receipt for the customer.

Integration with a payment system

If the integration is only with a payment system, fiscalization happens on the payment service side. The payment system (acquirer or payment aggregator) is responsible for processing payments — accepting card data, validating it, charging funds and transferring money to the seller's account.
